What is my current grade?

Please check your grade in LearnBoost; otherwise, you may get a guess that is not accurate.

My printer is out of ink. May I submit my work another way?

Share your work in Google Docs!

If you are unable to share in Google Docs, you may submit or email your work. If none of these options work, you may bring your assignment on a flash drive or CD and print it in the media center; see Mrs. Thomasson for help.

Late work will be penalized according to the late work policy. All work submitted online is time stamped.

I don't have Word or PowerPoint on my computer at home. Is there a solution?

Remember that you automatically have access to Google Docs as a part of class. With Google Docs, you can type essays and create presentations without any software. All you need is an Internet connection and a modern browser. You may also use Google Docs for other classes.

If you do not have an Internet connection, OpenOffice.org is another alternative. If you would like to have a copy, please see me. This program is free and works in much the same way as Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.

I lost my daybook (composition book). What should I do?

Find it (on your own time). To get credit for your daybook entries, they must be in your daybook.

If you do not have your daybook on a particular day, you should complete the entry on a piece of notebook paper and then copy it into your daybook at a later time. Although this is extra work, it will be required for you to get credit. If you lose your daybook and are sure it will not be found, you may purchase another from me for $1. You are responsible for completing all lost entries.

What should I do if I'm absent?

It is your responsibility to complete missed assignments within three (3) days of your absence. I am available Wednesdays and Thursdays and after school most other days for you to make up missed work. Please schedule an appointment if you plan to stay on days other than Wednesday or Thursday since I sometimes have meetings that I must attend.

Do I have time to go to the bathroom before the tardy bell rings?

This is a choice you will have to make. If you return after the bell rings, you will be counted tardy and sent to the pass room. No exceptions.

May I have food and drink in the classroom?

No. You are not allowed to have either in the classroom unless I give them to you. You may have bottled water. You may also have small amounts of candy if you properly dispose of any resulting trash. If responsibility is not shown by keeping the classroom clean, these privileges will be revoked and never reinstated.

Our class has a seating arrangement, and I don't like where I sit. Can I move?

No. You will not be allowed to move unless you have a legitimate medical need to do so.
