You may e-mail or upload your work. Please be aware that I can only print in black and white, and I will not print assignments that have a lot of graphics or photos. If you are unable to e-mail or upload your work, you may bring it on a flash drive or CD. If you choose to bring your work on a flash drive or CD, please see me during my planning period (1st period) or office hour so I can print your work before class starts. You may print your work in the media center if I am unavailable; see Mrs. Thomasson for help.
Late work will be penalized according to the late work policy. All work submitted online is time stamped.
Note: Please save yourself and me some trouble by saving your files as either .doc (Microsoft Word 97-2003) or .rtf (Rich Text Format) file types. Microsoft Word 2007's newest extension, .docx, is not widely supported at school.
Fortunately, many free options exist that will allow you to create or view Word or PowerPoint documents without having to buy either Microsoft program.
OpenOffice.org, which is a downloadable suite, has a word processor very similar to Word and a program to create presentations similar to PowerPoint. You are able to not only view and edit Word and PowerPoint documents with OpenOffice.org, but you can save documents you create in OpenOffice.org as either Microsoft file type.
Google Docs, which is web-based, can perform the same basic functions as OpenOffice.org. Google Docs requires an Internet connection to operate since it does not exist as a program on your computer.
If you simply want to view a PowerPoint, Microsoft provides a free PowerPoint Viewer on their website. Microsoft also has a Word Viewer.
Find it (on your own time). To get credit for your day book entries, they must be in your day book.
If you do not have your day book on a particular day, you should complete the entry on a piece of notebook paper and then copy it into your day book at a later time. Although this is extra work, it will be required for you to get credit. If you lose your day book and are sure it will not be found, you may purchase another from me for $1. You are responsible for completing all lost entries.
It is your responsibility to complete missed assignments within two (2) days of your absence. I am available Thursdays and after school most other days for you to make up missed work. Please schedule an appointment if you plan to stay on days other than Thursday since I sometimes have meetings that I must attend.
This is a choice you will have to make. If you return after the bell rings, you will be counted tardy and sent to the pass room. No exceptions.
No. You are not allowed to have either in the classroom unless I give them to you. You may have bottled water. You may also have small amounts of candy if you properly dispose of any resulting trash. If responsibility is not shown by keeping the classroom clean, these privileges will be revoked and never reinstated.
No. You will not be allowed to move unless you have a legitimate medical need to do so.
